In a word yes! In a sentence YES! Reputable home inspection companies fully and carefully inspect homes and want you there to see exactly what they see. During many home inspections I will show the buyer problems they never saw before because I know where to look and point them out. The way I run my firm is that all clients are encouraged to attend their home inspection, they also receive a custom typed written report prepared by the licensed home inspector himself detailing our observations, what is wrong, why it is wrong, what do about it and recommendations of useful upgrades to the property systems. If items are found that are unsafe, hazardous or require further evaluation by an expert, the report tells you so in plain English. Our report is designed to help you save money as well provide peace of mind in your new investment. Sure it would be easier if I just gave my report on your home to the newest employee in my office to type. While I can not type well, I just choose to spend hours a night typing the home inspection report myself. It gives me a chance to read over what I typed and correct any errors or items I left while I prepare your typed addendum. |
